Port & Vessel Security for Public Safety & Maritime Personnel (Train-the-Trainer; 2-Day)

AWR 144-1 is the train-the-trainer version (2 days in length) of AWR 144 Port & Vessel Security for Public Safety & Maritime Personnel. By participating in the course, qualified participants will receive information about instructional methodologies, review the course in depth from the instructor’s perspective, and deliver an assigned section of a training module of instruction to assess teach-back performance on Day 2.

The primary audience for the train-the-trainer version includes certified trainers, administrators and managers, and safety and security personnel with extensive experience in maritime safety and security within rural navigable waterways and ports. Adult teaching experience is highly recommended.

Offerings of the train-the-trainer are limited and require all students to have completed the direct delivery of AWR 144 prior to attendance. Registrants must be approved through the state homeland security administrative agency. A maximum of 16 pre-registered students may attend.

Note: Preparation for the Day 2 teach-back may require evening study time by the student.

Course Prerequisites

Successful completion of AWR 144 (direct delivery students only) Course participants must be certified trainers, administrators and managers, and safety and security personnel with extensive experience in maritime safety and security within rural navigable waterways and ports Approval by state homeland security administrative agency to instruct on this material. Participant must be a U.S. citizen. Online pre-registration for class and above prerequisites is required. Non-registered students will be denied entry into class.
