Resource Inventory Management for Rural Communities
This 8-hour management-level course is designed to educate participants on the need for resource inventory management practices, effective strategies, and tools in development of a community-wide resource inventory. Through this course, participants will gain the knowledge and skills necessary to create and maintain a comprehensive resource inventory including resources from both the public and private sectors on a local, county, or multi-county area. Participants will learn more about the FEMA Incident Resource Inventory System (IRIS) as a tool to assist communities in resource “typing” and inventory efforts.
Students are encouraged to have completed the following training prior to attendance: IS-100.a Introduction to Incident Command System (ICS) IS-200.a ICS for Single Resources and Initial Action Incidents IS-300 Intermediate Incident Command System IS-400 Advanced Incident Command System IS-700 National Incident Management System
