Mr. Larry Dixon is an instructor with Eastern Kentucky University, an academic partner of the RDPC.
Mr. Dixon is a twenty-one year emergency management veteran having served nineteen years with Kentucky Emergency Management as a regional response manager and two years as local emergency management director.
During his career, Mr. Dixon has served on the Emergency Management Assistance Compact Task Force, assisted in state emergency operations centers (EOC’s) for major natural disasters in Florida, North Carolina, Mississippi, and Montana. Mr. Dixon has managed EOC’s in small jurisdictions and filled numerous positions in small EOC settings. He has also served as an evaluator of numerous small EOC exercises.
Mr. Dixon attended Alice Lloyd College and currently serves as an instructor with Kentucky Emergency Management, instructing Basic EOC, ICS300, ICS400, and Damage Assessment. He has also served as lead instructor for Hazmat Awareness and Hazmat Operations.
Mr. Dixon is widely recognized for his dedication to his chosen profession and his community.
