Cammie Marti

Dr. Cammie Marti is a master instructor with NorthWest Arkansas Community College, an academic partner of the RDPC.

Dr. Marti is a nurse epidemiologist with a master’s degree in public health and a doctorate in public policy. Dr. Marti has over 10 years of experience in the field of preparedness and, as a native of the Carolina coast, has worked several hurricanes and manned hurricane shelters.

In August 201, Dr. Marti worked with the UNC Bioterrorism grant to complete her graduate Epi project on preparedness for disease outbreaks. After the attacks on September 11, 2001, she began working full time as a nurse epidemiologist on the Public Health Preparedness team for southeastern North Carolina. In 2002, she moved to Michigan and became the state training coordinator for Public Health Preparedness. She has also worked for over six years as a consultant for FEMA where she has served as a subject matter expert on committees advising Presidential Directives Five and Eight and has evaluated DHS sponsored exercises in various states, including TOPOFF III.

Dr. Marti has had extensive experience at all levels of government (local, state and national) in preparedness and has worked both public health and natural disasters in a variety of roles.
